Fashion Reborn – Upcycling for Change
Fashion Reborn Advances Sustainable Consumption Through Textile Repair and Upcycling
According to UNEP, each year, more than 92 million tons of textile waste are generated globally. Fashion Reborn responds to this challenge by reimagining fashion at its roots.
Fashion Reborn brought together participants in Geneva for a hands-on workshop dedicated to giving clothes a second life through repair, reuse, and upcycling. Held in collaboration with Association Histoire Sans Chute, the event welcomed 20 participants across two sessions, offering an accessible and practical introduction to the Sashiko technique.
Participants learned how to extend the life cycle of garments, reduce textile waste, and rethink their relationship with fashion. The initiative highlighted how local action, practical skills, and sustainable consumption can come together to address the environmental impacts of fast fashion and support climate-conscious lifestyles.
For those who were unable to join the workshop, we invite you to watch the recording event.
