Fashion Reborn Advances Sustainable Consumption Through Textile Repair and Upcycling
According to UNEP, each year, more than 92 million tons of textile waste are generated globally. Fashion Reborn responds to this challenge by reimagining fashion at its roots.
In November 2025, the Green Earth Action Foundation in collaboration with GEAF Ambassadors Bilkisu Garba and Farida Nabegu held the second edition of Fashion Reborn at Wassa IDP Camp. The event supported school children and adolescent girls with upcycled school bags and reusable sanitary pads. The intervention combined education, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.Impact
The initiative collected 891.34 kg of textile waste along with 148 discarded sacks. The upcycled bags reached 150 children, mostly orphans and vulnerable children, trained 45 adolescent girls on pad usage, and distributed 50 reusable pads.
