This year marks a significant convergence of three major Conference of the Parties (COP): UNCCD COP17 in Mongolia, CBD COP17 in Armenia and UNFCCC COP31 in Türkiye. The conferences spotlight growing and inter-linked challenges of land degradation, biodiversity loss and overall climate change.
Aligning with this ongoing dialogue, GEAF extends the purposefully designed three-part initiative ACT for Nature, through Advocacy, Collaboration and Transition.

ACT FOR NATURE: ACT II - Collaboration
From policy voices to community members, people are coming together with one shared purpose: hope for a future with thriving ecosystems.
In the second phase of the ACT For Nature initiative, GEAF Ambassadors are mobilising youth, community members, and local stakeholders to work together towards restoring ecosystems and strengthening the connection between people and nature.
Taking place across multiple locations over the course of a month, this initiative demonstrates what is possible when global agendas, local action, and communities converge around a common cause.
One purpose. Many voices. Collective action. Hope.

GEAF Ambassador Alfredina dos Santos (Cohort '26)
The Mangrove Planting Activity will be a simple community-based environmental activity in Hera, Dili, Timor-Leste, focused on planting mangrove trees in a coastal area. The activity will take place as part of the GEAF ACT for Nature – Collaboration Phase, which supports local actions to protect biodiversity and respond to environmental challenges.
The activity will be led by GEAF Ambassador Alfredina dos Santos (Cohort '26), together with co-leader and GEAF Facilitator, Alfrida dos Santos. The activity will involve youth volunteers and community members living in the surrounding area. Together, the participants will plant mangrove saplings in the selected coastal area.

GEAF Ambassador Tapas Kumar Mollick (Cohort '26)
The initiative will serve as a community-facing milestone in the Mangroves4Life initiative in Bangladesh, connecting the ACT for Nature activity with SESDO’s longer-term Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR) approach.
Led by GEAF Ambassador Tapas Kumar Mollick (Cohort '26), the activity will begin with a short community awareness session highlighting the importance of mangrove ecosystems, biodiversity, coastal protection, climate resilience, and community action in the Sundarbans coastal landscape. Following the session, participants will take part in a short awareness rally along the river embankment before moving to the selected restoration site for a hands-on community mangrove plantation activity.
GEAF Ambassador Alexander Gwanvalla (Cohort '25)
In collaboration with Community Green Engagement Cameroon GEAF Ambassador Alexander Gwanvalla leads the ACT II of ACT For Nature initiative in Bamenda, Cameroon.
The initiative will bring together children and young people to take practical action for nature through tree planting, environmental drawing, and the distribution of tree seedlings for planting at home with parents or caretakers, extending the impact of the event from the school into households.
The event will begin with a short environmental awareness session on the importance of trees, forests, biodiversity, and climate action.

GEAF Ambassador Mariam Gibson Bwire (Cohort '26)
GEAF Ambassador Mariam Gibson Bwire, will lead a youth-led environmental action initiative, focused on planting and nurturing trees in Ilala, Dar es Salaam. The initiative will bring together students, youth, environmental activists, local authorities, teachers, and other environmental stakeholders, through a community reforestation session.
The event will combine practical tree planting with environmental education, helping participants understand the importance of trees in improving urban air quality, reducing heat, supporting biodiversity, preventing soil degradation and strengthening climate resilience. Participants will also receive guidance on tree care and long-term maintenance to ensure that planting results in lasting impact.
GEAF Ambassador Tsiaterimila Prince (Cohort '25)
In collaboration with FTVA Madagascar, GEAF Ambassador Tsiaterimila Prince will lead “Make Green Again Madagascar : Youth-Led Ecosystem Restoration and Biodiversity Action”, a community-based ecosystem restoration event in a rural area of Fianarantsoa, Madagascar
The event will bring together approximately youth, community members, and local stakeholders to restore degraded ecosystems through the planting of 1,000 native and locally adapted trees and environmental awareness activities.
